The exhibition in detail

For over 10,000 years, human communities have been domesticating the species they find useful, from dogs and horses to cereals and other crops.

Everyone knows and uses the word domestication, but what does it really mean? Exploring domestication means delving into a long and complex history during which plants and animals have been profoundly modified to adapt to our needs.

Combining natural science, ethnology, archaeology, history and genetics, the exhibition questions our practices and offers keys to understanding our past, deciphering our present and imagining possible futures. It has been designed to arouse the curiosity of everyone, from the very young to the very old, from connoisseurs to neophytes.
