Temporary Exhibition at the Toulouse Museum

Originating deep inside the Earth’s core, minerals have always been a source of fascination to humans. Their surprising, sometimes geometrical, sometimes abstract forms, their colours and transparencies, make them true marvels of nature.

Mined for millennia for their exceptional properties, they are now an omnipresent feature of our daily lives: from the simplest objects to the most sophisticated technologies. Minerals are precious, often strategic resources, and some even have geopolitical importance.

The collections housed at the Toulouse Natural History Museum contain more than 9,000 mineral samples.
