The exhibition in details
While the Toulouse Stadium ignites on the occasion of the Rugby World Cup, the Museum also celebrates Ovalie with Naturellement rugby, an astonishing and fun exhibition presented until February 11, 2024 (extend).
Faithful to the particularity of the Museum, this dive into Ovalie is treated from a multidisciplinary perspective and offers a historical, geographical, biological and societal point of view. Families, rugby enthusiasts and naturalists can learn more about rugby and its origins.
The exhibition traces the birth of rugby, a practice inspired by traditional medieval games, and all the path traveled before the sport arrived in Toulouse. We discover how the evolution of the practice of rugby accompanies, and sometimes precedes, the evolution of societies, from its codification during the industrial revolution, through its deployment in the colonial period until its professionalization in the era sports business.
